Hotel Review : Peak Hotel and Resort

We booked Peak Hotel and Resort at the very last minute.    T and I wanted an affordable place near the beach of       Sihanoukville but the ones that have an online reservation are all booked because of the New Years.

We or I took a chance with this hotel since it was the only one I found to have a vacant room for our planned day of arrival in Sihaknoukville. When I read the review , I had my reservation and was thinking of just cancelling the whole reservation but since I booked a few days before we are going there, I have to pay the penalty. So we just decided to take our chance.

First blooper, just like the name said, it’s located on the peak of a little hill. Most Tuk-Tuk driver would not go there because of the steep climb and would cost them more on gasoline.

Second, it is not a beach front hotel.

When we got to Sihanoukville, we were just so tired from our bus ride ( 12 hours ?? ) from Siem Reap but T was able to haggle with a Tuk-Tuk driver to take us all the way to the place.

Room : I booked for a double bed room but am not sure what happened they said that it was all booked and gave us a room with 2 single bed. The room was big and very spacious with an en suite bathroom. It was clean too. The towels needs a little bit more washing though. The bathroom has its own tub but it need a really good scrubbing.

Our reservation includes a free breakfast and is served in a different building that really needs a good cleaning and make over. The food was good enough for us though.

Staff. One of the staff that met us the first night was really nice and very polite and tried his best to communicate to us in English. The younger ones we met on the next day in the reception really needs some good lesson in customer service. I think they were more concern with whatever they were doing on their phone and computer. The rest of the cleaning staff were nice and always have a nice smile whenever we see them.

When we saw what the beach looks like, we are actually grateful that we book with Peak Hotel. It was fairly quite at night and with the fresh breeze coming from the sea,  we did not need any air-conditioning unit. The place though badly needs a good manager and trainer. The whole area is actually really nice and beautiful. They even have their own tennis court that guest can use and a swimming pool.

We had a good relaxing stay at the hotel and I do like it’s location and if the place hire a good manager I’m sure this place would be really great.

it sounds like it needs a manager to train all of the staff. I hate when people are on their phone or computer instead of doing their job.
