Nightview and Rubber Duckie

R told me that the Rubber Duckie has been  moved to Nakano-shima near the Rose Garden so on my home from the meeting yesterday I passed there yesterday to see the yellow rubber duckie.

And I noticed as I was walking towards the garden they have some lights on the bridge and it looks mystical.

The roses were also in bloom

the garden lights also have rose pattern on it.

Okayama Tour: Castle Black

Okayama Tour: Castle Black

Okayama Castle has been nicknamed as Ujo ( Crow Castle) because of its black exterior.

Castle Description

The castle is about 15 -20 minutes walk from JR Okayama Station. There are buses and trams going to the castle but R and I decided to do some more exercise and save some yen for presents :)

R and I decided not to enter the castle anymore , we were both satisfied with what we have seen already. :)

Inokashira Park

Inokashira Park

I guess I could understand Hayao Miyazaki for loving and using this park as inspiration in some of his work. It is just lovely out there.

I just want to borrow a name form “Anne of the Green Gables”, I call this as The Lake of Shining Waters.

I did not stay that long and I was not able to get in the zoo since I arrived past 4pm.  It seems that every weekend specially Sunday, there are stores all over the parks.  It is a nice a peaceful park ,  it would be so lovely in spring too.

A Walk to Machida

A Walk to Machida

I woke up really early this morning , I wanted to sleep more but I can’ t just, I finally give up and decided to challenge myself for a walk to Machida Station along Odakyu Train going to Odawara.

Along the way I found some interesting things

I wish this little guy would turn to a really beautiful butterfly.

The Kawasaki Art Museum , a minute or 2 from Odakyu: Shin-yurigaoka Station(新百合丘駅) .

When I reached Tsurukawa Station, I decided to have a little breakfast at Mister Donuts and around 15 minutes break there too.

I also spent around 30 minutes walking around Yakushiike(薬師池公園)Park when I reached Machida City.

The water Lily Fieldgoo thing though that were still some Lilies blooming in the Water Lily field.

Droplets!!

The park was huge , I walked around the side so that I won’t divert from my real route. They also sell some really cheap organic vegetable within the park. I got some really nice pack of eggplant and bitter gourd.

I continued my walked to machida following the bus route. I was really surprised to see that Machida is a bustling area. Lot of really areas that you can explore. I found the Nikkuman( meat bun) place, but there was already a long line there, and I was already hungry so I got myself a really big bowl of Mabu Tofu at a nearby Chinese restaurant.

It took me about 4 hours to get there and accdg to google maps, the shortest route is 13km. Very nice long walk !!

Ikuta Ryokuchi Park

Ikuta Ryokuchi Park

I totally understand why the people of Kawasaki loved this park so much. Ikuta Ryokuchi Park(生田緑地公園), is such a lovely place to relax and be in touch with nature.

Japanese Folk Houses

The Japanese Folk Houses is within the park but has an entrance fee of 500yen(adult).

The planetarium

The dome is where the planetarium is located.

Taro Okamoto Museum of Art

This is a gigantic statue , the base part look the tentacles of an octopus :D

** got more picture to upload but i think i’ll put it on my picasa album :D

Getting There:  Take the Odakyu Line ( Local, Express , Semi-Express ) and get off at Mukogaoka-yuen station.

It’s about 10 minutes walk from the  station.

Koishikawa Korakuen

Koishikawa Korakuen

“There a lots of Parks in Tokyo compared to Kansai” – former leader. And yes he was telling the truth. Last autumn 2009, I visited Koishikawa Korakuen ( 小石川後楽園) Park.  Another way to go there is by taking Mita Line, and get off at Suidobashi station and just follow the arrow to the park. On the way to the park, you can pass by Tokyo Dome.
